First, let me have a moment to take this in. I've spent a long time promising to start a blog but have yet to follow through.
Okay, now that we have that out of the way, please call me Rune. I've been on my spiritual journey for only a couple of years. Sometimes, it feels longer, and sometimes, it feels shorter. What I can say is that it has been an experience.
I started this journey because I reached a dark point in my life, and something needed to give. I started listening to podcasts about spirituality and began my research. When I say I was overwhelmed, I mean I felt bowled over by a boulder. There was so much information out there! I didn't know what to look at first. I didn't know whether to look forward, backward, up, or down. I'm sure many of us felt that way when we started our journey. Or, if you're thinking about starting it, just be prepared.
Over time, I settled on starting with meditation and shadow work. I'm sure most know what meditation is. It was a big game-changer for me. I'm what I like to call a visual meditator. I can't simply quiet my brain. Trust me, I've tried. I've found that visualizing specific scenes has worked best for me. I've always had an overactive imagination. Visualizing connecting with Spirit and energy helped so much. I felt myself opening up. Did it help overnight? No. It's been a slow process. I'm still working on my meditation journey. But it has been helpful and eye-opening.
Shadow work might be a little less known. I won't go into too much detail because that would be a blog post all by itself. If you're impatient, look at Carl Jung to fall down that rabbit hole. To put it simply, shadow work is working with and integrating your shadow self. The part of yourself that holds all the negative and lost hopes and dreams. It's embracing and exploring that part of yourself. The why, how, what, where. It's been a long journey, and I'm still working on it. It consists of a lot of journaling, meditation, and introspection. I will even warn that it is painful but worth it.
Halfway through my journey, I found tarot. Now, I don't read tarot, and I'll get into that in another post. However, it did lead me to Runes and Oracle cards. I took to Runes and Oracle cards like a fish to water. It was like a breath of fresh air. I feel more connected to Spirit and Mother Earth when I'm doing readings. They fill me with such purpose and awe. Just know that I resonate deeply with my Runes and Oracle cards.
Past the spiritual stuff, I'm just an ordinary person. I love to read and write, play games, and sit at the dog park with my puppers. I joke that my dogs are 80% of my personality. Overall, I'm a simple person, and I'm happy that way.
Now that you know just a bit about myself, I welcome you to Runes n' Ramblings, and I can't wait to spend more time with you.
